In 1995, Mark Chasan started Emusic, the first online retail website for downloadable digital music. Chasan built Emusic into a leading online music and entertainment space and distribution center. In 1999, Emusic merged with Goodnoise, and the combined entities went public and achieved a market cap of $500 million. Mark Chasan is credited with developing a first of its kind website, offering high-quality, easy to download music for consumers. Mark Chasan also co-founded Sharecomm, Inc., a technology company that used peer-to-peer efforts to build media communities. Sharecomm was sold to Morpheus in 2004, adding another successful merger to his resume.
