An alumna of Brown University and Cornell Law School, Katherine Weir has come a long way since earning her Juris Doctor (JD) in 2004. While in law school, Katherine Weir worked as a law clerk at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston, Massachusetts and at Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD). Upon obtaining her JD, Ms. Weir joined the New York office of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP as an Associate, where she practiced for two years before moving to Boston and joining Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr LLP. Katherine Weir is currently a Senior Associate at WilmerHale, where she has practiced corporate law since 2006. Ms. Weir works with both public and private companies on a variety of matters, including advising them with regard to corporate governance issues and securities law, as well as representing them in venture capital financings, public securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions. Katherine Weir is a member of the American Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. Since joining WilmerHale, Ms. Weir has participated in the Women’s Leadership Initiative, a network of WilmerHale’s female attorneys promoting the advancement of women at WilmerHale. Passionate about helping others, Ms. Weir has mentored with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), helping young people from low-income families learn about becoming entrepreneurs. Ms. Weir has also provided legal services on a pro bono basis to multiple organizations providing assistance to victims of domestic violence. Ms. Katherine Weir currently makes her home in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
