Occasionally in my life I have been fortunate to encounter that rare individual who exemplifies all of those positive traits that tend to set them apart form the crowd. These individuals shine like a brilliant star and attract others to them through their compassion, integrity, humility, generosity, spirituality and willingness to give of themselves in service to others. While others may sit back and rest on their laurels, these people seek new challenges and work tirelessly for the common good. They are teachers, mentors, counselors and advisors, and share unselfishly of their knowledge and experience with those of us who are fortunate enough to know them. Dr Gwen is an excellent example of such an individual. When I first joined the Mentors In Motion team, Dr. Gwen was among the first to offer assistance to me. I have found her to be dependable and available, and she has offered her support and reassurance when she felt I could benefit from her counsel. In addition to all of the above, Dr. Gwen is a true lady in every sense of the word. I am honored to know her as a college and a friend.
