Review #1728
Susie Briscoe is the model coach for me.
I was first introduced to Susie through the 'Coaching and Mentoring International' when i first shown interest in taking up coaching. Having reflected on my career activities i thought coaching featured well in my job but i had no qualification in this. Our first meeting was an introduction to what coaching really is about. We were meant to spend half an hour, that's all i paid for, to get me aquainted with the idea of coaching; we spent two hours drinking coffee and bouncing ideas and analysing whether i really wanted to do this and her time was given free. Very easy going, for the strangers we were, and what a positive image of coaching!
It is not the gender but the persona, her committment, enthusiasm, patience and calm exterior that is contagious; i was helped enormously by her optimism and encouragement when i was preparing for my final step to become an acredited coach myself.
The incisive question 'if you knew you could only succeed, what would you be doing?' I adopted a very positive approach, i could only go forward because i was not going to stop me from achieving my goal and certainly i would not let others stop me from reaching my full potential.
As an coach exchange leader her unequivocal support for student coaches through edu activities in collaboration with fellow coaches is inexhaustible.
Above all Susie's enthusiam in inspiring others and her ethical code and philosophy of coaching is truly admirable and one to emulate.
