For immediate release:

JUPITER, FLORIDA - August 7, 2005--iKarma Inc. today launched their new online reputation service to good user reviews -- and an errant lightning strike that knocked them offline for nearly three hours on Saturday evening.

"We were all just starting to breathe easy," jokes Paul Williams, iKarma CEO. "Things had been going smoothly all day. Our initial press release had just appeared in Yahoo Finance's 'Popular Stories' section. We were just about to pop the cork on the champagne. The sky had a different idea." iKarma's data server location was struck during a lightning storm ravaging the state of Florida on Saturday evening. The damage turned out to be minor, and iKarma was restored to full service by 11:00pm EST.

Any other company might consider a launch-day lightning bolt to be a bad sign, but Williams sees it very differently. "If I were more superstitious, maybe," laughs Williams. "In Florida, lightning is just a fact of life. It doesn't discriminate. Considering how little damage actually occurred, I'd call it good luck."

iKarma.com ( www.ikarma.com ) is a new Web-based service for businesses eager to build and promote their reputations online, as well as for customers who wish to praise good businesses and publicly register their opinions of bad ones. iKarma's current service is free of charge to registered members.

The iKarma team isn't deterred by a few dark clouds. "Sometimes bad weather happens," says Williams. "But you can't let a little storm define you as a business. Like anything else, what matters is how you shape the experience into something positive."
