A resident of Hillside, New Jersey, James McCue served as the Director of Athletics and Activities for Union County College for 10 years. During his tenure, Union County College won more than 17 sports titles, including 1 national championship, the first in the College’s 76-year history. McCue also oversaw the successful overhaul of a gym and a ball park. Before joining Union County College as Athletic Director, James McCue spent more than 20 years at Schering-Plough Corporation, working in a variety of executive and management roles. From 1998 to 2000, McCue was the Vice President of Materials Management. With more than 220 people reporting to him, directly and indirectly, McCue oversaw the business strategy for several of Schering-Plough’s business units, including strategic purchasing, customer service, logistics, and production planning. In 2000, Schering-Plough had $6 billion in pharmaceutical sales. With McCue in the role of Vice President of Materials Management, Schering-Plough was voted Manufacturer of the Year by the firm's largest customers for being the most innovative and effective in marketing and customer service. In 2000, James McCue was named Purchasing Executive of the Year by the National Association of Purchasing Management. Prior to becoming Vice President of Materials Management, McCue spent two years as Vice President of Strategic Purchasing, working out of Schering-Plough’s Kenilworth, New Jersey, office. While at Schering-Plough, James McCue developed a global cost-saving purchasing strategy that saved the company $180 million. A Rutgers University graduate who earned a place on the Dean’s List for three consecutive years, James McCue is a family man devoted to his community. McCue regularly volunteers at Holy Spirit Church, serving as a member of the Pre-Cana team as well as a church reader. A core member of the Church’s men’s retreat team, James McCue is working diligently to make this year's retreat another success. He also volunteers with the local Community Food Bank and makes contributions to the Disabled Veterans of America and the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Program. He is the proud father of two children and has been married to Barbara, his wife for over 30 years.
