I am a singer/songwriter and webmistress with five kids and a 21 year old marriage. I have homeschooled my children, off and on, for the past 18 years, and tend to avoid "standard" approaches to anything.
I came to Hollywood Florida in 1984 from Ohio, where I grew up in the Cincinnati area. My mother was an artist and songwriter and my father was also a writer, so creativity has always been an important part of my life.
In 2002, my oldest son and I attended Florida Career College together. I enrolled in the Webmaster course, and he studied Computer Network Engineering. We both graduated at the top of our respective classes, and he held a position of responsibility with government clearances before leaving to join the US Navy. Prior to college he had very little "formal" education.
Rainbow Websites evolved from my love for creating webpages and a desire to promote my favorite artists, bands, musicians, photographers and writers. While I will not discriminate against potential clients based upon their line of business, I am most focused on independent creative endeavors of all types and finding means through which to bypass traditional channels and venues. I prefer those who "think outside the box" to following set ideas of "how things should be" so long as the solutions provided are functional. I am still evolving personally as far as web design goes, but always open to learning more and partnering with those who already do (know more). Cooperation, not competition, is my credo.
