Lane Liroff has built a successful career in law since graduating from Southwestern Law School in 1976. After founding his own practice and concentrating in family, real estate, and civil law for 3 years, Lane Liroff took his talents to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, where he has worked as a Deputy District Attorney for approximately 20 years. While prosecuting homicide cases in Santa Clara County has been the defining job of Lane Liroff’s career, this seasoned professional has also practiced in Washington, D.C., taught courses in higher education at local law schools, and authored a number of published pieces. His written work, united by a focus on the law, has appeared in a wide array of journals, books, and databases. He was a consultant and a contributing author to the California Criminal Law Forms Manual, as well as the Prosecutorial and Judicial Misconduct Supplement, published by Continuing Education of the Bar in 1986 and 1995, respectively. In 1991, Lane Liroff contributed to California Evidence, Civil and Criminal, a computer program that compiled a database aimed at streamlining legal research on evidence issues. Along with the many lectures Lane Liroff has given during his time as a faculty member at the Lincoln University School of Law and the San Jose State University Administration of Justice Bureau, the respected lawyer has also given a number of presentations. Most recently, Lane Liroff has lectured at institutions such as Stanford University Law School, San Jose State University, and Santa Clara University Law School. Earlier, in 2008, he traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, to serve as a panel member for the American Psychological Association’s Symposium on Intellectual Disability and the Death Penalty, Current and Future Contributions of Psychologists in Atkins Cases. Lane Liroff has also given presentations on behalf of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Continuing Education Bar, and the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
