Profile
I'm a homeschooling mother, homemaker, and non-traditional college student. I live in Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, with my life partner, author Sam Chupp, and daughter Katie. When I worked outside the home, I was most recently a software quality analyst and technical writer.
I write, read, make music, design and stitch counted-thread needlework, play diceless roleplaying games, and podcast. I'm physically disabled, so I attend classes online and use the 'net to keep in touch with friends and family. I've met many wonderful people through social networking sites, and am very interested in Web 2.0 and its descendants.
I've been an internet safety advocate since a cyberstalker targeted me and my daughter in 1996. In the interests of that cause, I've done many interviews with U.S. and European print and video media organizations. I've also worked with local law enforcement authorities on some cases and provided training. I am the former Executive Vice President of Working to Halt Online Abuse and have stayed in touch with the organization since leaving to return to college.
