? Profile

Scott Mead is an American banker living in London with nearly 30 years investment banking and business experience, and he continues to utilize his skills through financial know-how and philanthropic contributions. It isn't all business all the time for Mead, however. He's also a marathon runner and a photographer.

Business Experience

Mead brings his financial knowledge to Richmond Park Partners, where he is one of three founders. This financial institution is an independent merchant bank that offers capital markets and corporate finance advice, as well as activities in asset and risk management and advisory services. The firm represents clients around the globe.

Prior to Richmond Park Partners, Mead had a successful career at Goldman Sachs & Company, where he became a partner and managing director. His work at the company's New York headquarters led to a transfer to the United Kingdom to help establish the firm’s activities in the European market. His skills were evident when he played a vital role in helping mobile company Vodafone acquire German telecommunications company Mannesman in this multi billion dollar deal.

Personal Experience

Scott Mead was raised in Pennsylvania but graduated from Harvard College, where he was an honor student and an ardent athlete. He also earned his MPhil at Emmanuel College in Cambridge University and his law degree at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. In 1988, Mead moved to London to pursue his investment banking career, but also kept up his personal interests, running in London and New York marathons, exhibiting his fine art photography, and contributing to various not-for-profit organizations.

As a teen, Mead enjoyed the hobby of photography, using his grandfather's old camera. While he thought he might engage in photography as a career, he then decided to forgo this pursuit in favor of an investment banking profession. Still, photography has always been near and dear to his heart and years later, he used these photos as part of his exhibition for Hamiltons Gallery to benefit Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Philanthropy

Mead contributes his time to a plethora of educational groups and hospital philanthropies. He is a Member of the Advisory board at Cambridge University's business school and a member of their 800th Anniversary Campaign Board. He is active on the Task Force at Harvard University. He is a Charter Trustee at the Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts and a founder of the Notting Hill Prepatory School in London.

While no longer an Associate Non-Executive Director at Great Ormond Street Hospital, he is Vice-Chairman of its Redevelopment Board and has sponsored the hospital through marathon runs and his most recent fine arts photography exhibition. He is also on the Board of Visitors at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston. Finally, he established the Mead Family Foundation which supports medical research, education and the arts. .
