Founded by unreserved size-acceptance activist and plus-sized role model Lisa Marie Garbo, Club Bounce promises big beautiful women (BBW) and big handsome men (BHM) a criticism-free environment in an upscale nightclub setting. Without having to worry about hurtful comments from insensitive clubgoers, patrons of Club Bounce are able to relax, dance, and socialize. Plus-sized status isn’t a prerequisite to getting into Club Bounce, as Lisa Marie Garbo opened the venue to create a convivial and welcoming atmosphere for everyone—regardless of size, race, or gender. In fact, Club Bounce is Lisa Marie Garbo’s answer to elitist nightclubs prone to denying entry to people based on their size or appearance. Open every Friday and Saturday night from 9:00 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., Club Bounce is the world’s preeminent size-positive nightclub. In addition to receiving high praise from regular attendees and first-time visitors alike, Club Bounce has earned favorable write-ups from newspapers and online magazines. Club Bounce and its outspoken owner have been featured on a number of television shows, including “Dr. Phil,” “Inside Edition,” “Secret Lives of Women,” and “Good Morning America.” In excess of 1,000 revelers visit Club Bounce every weekend to take advantage of the usual festivities as well as special events, contests, and live performances. The Miss Club Bounce contest, in which BBW vie for the coveted title of Miss Club Bounce, is a favorite event among regulars.
