A licensed Optometrist with over 40 years of experience in his field, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon currently serves as the Chief Executive Manager of Visibility in Motion, LLC, a corporation based in Owego, New York. Dr. Stephen S. Solomon has been considered an expert in the field of optometry research since 1968, when he commenced his research career, focusing on issues of vision and safety. In May 2006, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon used the findings from his research to gain a patent on a new light-emitting signaling device for vehicles.
Before founding Visibility in Motion, LLC, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon worked as an Optometrist with a private practice located in Owego, New York. As an Optometrist, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon was a member of several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD). In 1976, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon was awarded the New York State Optometrist of the Year award in recognition of his quality work.
In addition to his occupation in the field of optometric research, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon has also served as a Firefighter for more than 50 years with various departments throughout New York. In this capacity, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon has worked as a Canine Trainer and Handler for the Tioga County Search and Rescue Team and as a Firefighter and Engine Captain. In 1988, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon was elected to the position of Fire Commissioner for the Town of Owego’s Fire District, a post he held for 17 years.
Before beginning his careers as a Firefighter and private practice Optometrist, Dr. Stephen S. Solomon served in the United States Air Force as an Optometrist and Visual Consultant in high energy light radiation and eye protection. Dr. Stephen S. Solomon attended Pennsylvania State University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Optometry. He is considered a pioneer in the field of visibility and safety in the fire service.
