With a strong history in the financial sector and a natural aptitude for sales, Michael Velasco has significantly and positively impacted the companies for which he has worked. Beginning his career as a Senior Accountant with Ernst & Young in July 1983, Michael Velasco assisted the Financial Services Group in their projects with Bank of America, the Philippine National Bank, and Alliance Capital, inter alia.
Four and a half years after joining Ernst & Young, Michael Velasco transitioned into a role as a Broker Trainee at Shearson Lehman Brothers, Inc., since renamed Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc., before the company’s bankruptcy and purchase by Barclays in 2008. During his tenure with Shearson Lehman Brothers, which spanned from January 1988 to October 1993, Michael Velasco consistently delivered results that placed him in the top five percent of the company's employees. Moreover, Michael Velasco’s superior performance led him to achieve the #1 Trainee distinction in 1988. By the time Michael Velasco parted ways with the company, he had risen to the position of Senior Vice President of Investments.
Michael Velasco continued his upward movement in the financial industry as a Senior Vice President of Investments at UBS Investment Bank and as a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank Securities. At present, Michael Velasco serves as a Global Engagement Manager for Evalueserve, an innovative company providing knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) market research for firms around the world.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Michael Velasco supports youth in his community by coaching a variety of sports and serving as a referee for high school basketball, baseball, and softball. An avid sportsman himself, Michael Velasco enjoys playing paddle tennis and golf.
