Law Enforcement Training Manager Phil Shingleton handles several aspects of federal defense for Ashburn, Virginia’s MVM Inc., a private security contractor offering services to the United States government, military, and law enforcement. Prior to joining MVM, Inc. in April 2010, Phil Shingleton gained extensive experience in the law enforcement industry. As a Texas Police Officer for more than a decade, Phil Shingleton worked to keep his Austin community safe while valuing integrity, courage, accountability, and respect. During the first six years of his service with the Austin Police Department, Phil Shingleton stopped and arrested more than 600 stolen vehicle offenders, earning significant praise from a well-regarded auto insurance company. As one of more than 3,000 current MVM employees in the Washington Metropolitan Area, Phil Shingleton is responsible for developing and implementing defense-training methods for law enforcement personnel, the Federal Security Guard training team, 3,500 federal security officers, and three federal security instructors. Phil Shingleton also assists the multi-million dollar company with training cost estimates and proposals. Possessing more than 30 years of experience with government agencies, Phil Shingleton’s current employer holds contracts with the United States Marshals Service, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Federal Protective Service. Phil Shingleton aids MVM with its law enforcement training, crisis management planning, integrity and detention programs, information security, and polygraph program development. Aside from his career accomplishments, Centreville, Virginia, resident Phil Shingleton enjoys biking on Snowshoe Mountain and hiking in Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area.
