In 2006, Sony BMG Music released a holiday compilation titled “Christmas Classics: Yesterday, Today & Forever” featuring celebrated artists Toni Braxton, Christina Aguilera, Luther Vandross, Gloria Estefan, Tony Bennett, Destiny’s Child, Babyface, Jessica Simpson, and TLC. The album gained great success and sold as number one in its category. Bruce Furst, Executive Producer of “Christmas Classics: Yesterday, Today & Forever” has worked in the field of licensing since November 1989. Bruce Furst holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a law degree with an emphasis in Intellectual Property. With an extensive record of merchandising licensed items, Bruce Furst’s list of former employers include Archie Comics, Ritz Carlton, the Major League Baseball Players Association, King Features, and Paramount Pictures. During his tenure at UCLA, Bruce Furst maintained a rigorous schedule both in and out of the classroom, earning Most Improved Player and Best Speaker awards. Following UCLA, he pursued his law degree and began working for the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA). He remained with the MLBPA for ten years, from 1989-1999, gaining expertise in commodity licensing. In his time with the MLBPA, Bruce Furst assumed the position of Licensee with Paramount Pictures. In 1999, Bruce Furst left both companies to pursue other ventures. Currently, Bruce Furst is President and CEO of Ashber Corporation, a music licensing company. He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is presently at work on a radio show he will host. Bruce Furst is a volunteer for Amnesty International and Harvard University’s Parent Fund Raising Committee, and he regularly acts as Executive Producer on major films.
