Michael Mihora wields over 26 years of expertise in health care business operations, ranging from finance and growth opportunities to administrative and executive leadership roles. Establishing considerable financial turnarounds for a number of hospitals and medical centers throughout Michigan and Hawaii, Michael Mihora also enhances patient care and services through his business management. Michael Mihora maintains his presence in the industry through his participation in the Medical Group Management Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Michael Mihora studied Business and minored in Economics at the University of Michigan. Upon graduation with his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Michael Mihora provided cost accounting services at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Moving on to Lapeer Regional Hospital, Michael Mihora became the Department Head of Finance and later, Reimbursement and Billing. With the attainment of his Masters in Business Administration from Lake Superior State University, Michael Mihora moved to operations roles with Dickenson County Hospitals. With United Memorial Hospital, Michael Mihora realized major growth and achieved the hospital’s spot on HCIA’s Top 100 Hospitals list. Michael Mihora’s additional Chief Operating and Executive Officer successes include tenures with Lenawee Health Alliance as it merged with ProMedica Health System and Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. After moving to Hawaii, Michael Mihora earned the post of Chief Executive Officer with Bay Clinic, Inc. before his current duties at the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation’s Kona Community Hospital and Alii Health Center.
As Assistant Administrator and Medical Group Practice Administrator, Michael Mihora oversees an organization that totals a $5.5 million annual budget, employs 33 employees and 11 physicians, and has 6 satellite branches throughout West Hawaii. Alii Health offers supervision on behalf of physicians and their practices for patients throughout the Westside of the Island. Managing Alii Health’s non-profit corporation status, Michael Mihora has enlisted 12 new doctors and 3 mid-level providers to the organization, in addition to participation in establishing an Ambulatory Surgery Center in West Hawaii.
