Hayfield Capital Associate Kyba Thai developed a distinguished career in the financial world through a mixture of academic and professional achievements. As an Associate with the New York investment bank located in Wall Street, Kyba Thai connects hedge fund, HNW, private investments in public equity, and private equity investors with high potential clients seeking capital. Kyba Thai expedites key steps structuring capital for clients; he performs due diligence, creates product information bulletins, and presents pitches to investors. As a high school student attending Cardinal Hayes High School in New York, Kyba Thai conducted a summer internship at JP Morgan Chase. Researching many different research portals offered by other top brokerage firms, such as GS, MS, and LEH, Kyba Thai helped build and add further functionality and features to JP Morgan’s client resource MorganMarkets.
Upon graduation, Kyba Thai was awarded the $20,000 National Coca-Cola scholarship Finalist for the State of New York. He competed against over 110,000 applicants from across the country and was then flown out to the Coca-Cola Headquarter located in Atlanta, Georgia to be interviewed for 1 of the 50 National Coke Scholarships. At graduation, Kyba represented his senior class as valedictorian. Kyba Thai also distinguished himself as a Congressman Jose Serrano Scholar, New York Times Semi-Finalist, and a White House Presidential Scholar.
Kyba Thai proceeded to attend a Jesuit Ivy in Boston. At Boston College’s Carroll School of Management in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, he participated in PricewaterhouseCoopers xTREME Games tax competition. One of 10,000 participants, Kyba Thai placed as a Recipient of Recognition in the 2004 competition after demonstrating his analytical, teamwork, and presentation skills.
Kyba Thai further cultivated his professional experience in Manhattan while studying advanced finance at New York University. In 2008, Davis Securities hired Kyba Thai to join its prop trading desk. Kyba Thai investigated leads on large-cap S&P500 stocks for the Chief Portfolio Manager by performing top-down and bottom-up analysis on equity portfolios.
