Norm Burgos has dedicated his life to two things: tennis and education. Currently the Executive Director of the Burgos Tennis Foundation, Norm Burgos has been involved in teaching and coaching the sport to hundreds of young athletes since its founding in 1998. As the leader of the Burgos Tennis Foundation, Norm Burgos maintains a wide variety of responsibilities. Besides developing all of the foundation’s training programs, Norm Burgos is in charge of scheduling local and international clinics, ensuring proper use of all facilities, and coordinating special events with various non-profit organizations. Norm Burgos has been certified as a trainer at the highest levels by multiple organizations, including the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), and the International Tennis Foundation (ITF). Due to his dedication to his sport, many of the athletes Norm Burgos has coached have seen major success throughout their tennis careers in high school and in college, as well. Of course, Norm Burgos is more than just a skilled tennis instructor; he is also a former player. As a collegiate athlete, Norm Burgos was widely respected for his tennis prowess during his undergraduate years at both Moorpark College and Pepperdine University. While at Moorpark, Norm Burgos was named to the All Western State Conference teams in 1981 and 1982 and was honored as the MVP of his team. Norm Burgos earned his B.A. from Pepperdine in 1984 with a dual focus in Communications and Sports Medicine. An excellent student, Norm Burgos graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.84. Subsequently, Norm Burgos continued his education at San Francisco State University, earning a B.S. in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, in addition to his Secondary Education Teacher’s Certification. Recently, Norm Burgos reenrolled at San Francisco State and completed his Master’s degree in Education.
