The History Of Mon Chef Fine Quality Foods
Maxime G. Gerome, Executive Chef and founder of Mon Chef Catering, arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area with an extensive background in food preparation from entry level preparation to restaurant owner and Executive Chef in the restaurant, catering, and hotel industries. Mr. Gerome started Mon Chef Catering in 1992 in Oakland, California, with the assistance of Ms. Ruth Williams Rockey, a small business teacher, consultant, and friend. Although not an employee or partner in the business at the time, Mr. Gerome and Mon Chef Catering had the assistance and support of Ms. Williams Rockey. In addition to catering all sizes of events, both Mr. Gerome and Ms. Williams Rockey taught classes for several years at Piedmont Adult School, Mr. Gerome taught French Cooking and Ms Williams Rockey taught Starting a Small Business and Marketing Your Small Business.
In addition to scheduled catering events, soon there was a separate demand from individuals for the superb sauces, salad dressings, and desserts which had been served with their caterings. We began selling these products, and other items, directly to the public at farmer's markets, craft fairs, trade shows, etc., starting in the fall of 1996 and continuing steadily through July of 2005. During some years Mon Chef was selling it's products at both year round and season farmer's markets, attending up to six markets a week in addition to selling at trade shows and one day events.
Maxime Gerome and Ruth Williams Rockey were married in October of 2000. By that time Mon Chef Catering had changed to Mon Chef Fine Quality Foods and was co-owned by Maxime Gerome and Ruth Williams Rockey. Most catering functions had ceased and the focus was on manufactured fruit butters, chutneys, chocolate and dessert sauces, dessert items, vinegars, salad dressings and vinaigrettes. Regretfully these products are no longer available.
Now, a new product, a 20 minute 14 Organic Bean Soup Base, has been researched, developed and is ready to be introduced for sale to you through the internet.
