Kathryn Loewen is a product development executive and venture capitalist with a keen eye on technology and innovative Internet media. The experienced director holds a B.Commerce and Diploma in Technology after attending Dublin Business School and Royal Roads University. Upon completing her education, Loewen quickly moved up in her profession as she developed online banking solutions for the Fortune 500 firm Citigroup Europe in Dublin, Ireland.
Her experience in business analysis, product design and leadership in development did not go unnoticed. In 2003 Loewen was a recipient of the Canadian Leadership Award in Technology for overseeing the production of an innovative website aimed towards helping Canadian entrepreneurs. Her knowledge of online technologies has brought her to the forefront of strategic marketing and lead to a partnership with product development company Thirdi where she currently acts as a consultant for the Internet Marketing arm. Loewen is also a Director for the management consulting firm Trust Services Ltd. She has also invested in a number of web-based start-ups including the real-estate marketing firm CondoVue.com.
Loewen’s grounded personality is dominated by her interests in endurance training, race car driving, scuba diving and adventure traveling; but her down time is sometimes occupied by personal research on business and technology, fine dining and good bottle of wine. She enjoys design, art, and architecture and is inspired by the mantra devised by BMW engineers “Innovation creates opportunity, quality creates demand, but it takes teamwork to make it happen”.
