Profile
Peter Chiarella has held many positions in his life, including that of Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer of a Fortune 500 Company; however, Peter’s latest venture is one as Napa Valley vintner, running a small family vineyard, Crane Family Vineyards. It's certainly what he is most proud of. For Peter, the opportunity to own land and grow grapes is the culmination of a lifetime goal. Through Crane Family Vineyards, Peter Chiarella not only lives his dream, but also connects to his family’s homeland and traditions in southern Italy.
Crane Family Vineyards is a small, family-run business. Unlike some of the larger estates in the area run by huge corporations with multi-national ties, Peter Chiarella and his wife have sought to keep Crane Family Vineyards a local artisan affair that reflects the true character of the unique terroir at the Don Raffaele Estate. For Peter, Crane Family Vineyards is a welcome break from managing large companies with complex operations. At Crane Family Vineyards, Peter is the overall decision maker and chief executive. A true credit to his abilities in this capacity, Peter has guided Crane Family Vineyards as a successful startup enterprise in what is a demanding industry, on top of which he has managed to win many awards for his consistently excellent wines.
A graduate of St. John's University's College of Business Administration in New York City, Peter earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), was awarded membership in Delta Mu Delta, the school's Honor Society and headed the Dean's List in his sophomore year.
