Victoria Negrete: Successful, Top-Level Latina Executive

Victoria Negrete is a multitalented, professional business leader with a long trajectory in Latin American Sociology and International “Inter-Cultural Relations which she has applied to “filling needs” in International Business.

Victoria Negrete began her studies at The International University’s campuses in Mexico City, Mexico and San Diego, California. Immediately thereafter, Victoria Negrete was able to prove her aptitude for international business developing import export initiatives for one of Mexico’s premier marble manufacturing companies.

But Victoria Negrete was restless in pursuing her creative side as well. So Victoria Negrete began what would be a very successful career working with top international film and movie producers, such as Dino De Laurentis and Universal Studios, CBS and Michael Douglas. Over the next 10 years, Victoria Negrete worked on a record- breaking 54 films for TV and Cinema including “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “Honey I Shrunk the Kids,” “James Bond – License Revoked,” and “Rambo,” as well as working on musical videos for the Rolling Stones and Latino rock stars such as Luis Miguel and Emmanuel. Victoria Negrete also discovered a need for first class mobile dressing rooms for the stars, and so launched what became the premier mobile dressing room company in Latin America, “Cinema Convoy.”

Victoria Negrete’s success earned her a reputation as a “Hot Shot” producer. This allowed Victoria Negrete to start her own production company, “Producciones Bionicas, S.A.,” which specialized in the production of Latino Marketing Communications in general with a focus on advertising production for major American advertising agencies including McCann Ericson, J. Walter Thompson, BBDO, and Young and Rubicam. Victoria Negrete quickly became as well known for her talent in Latin American advertising, as well as in the motion picture business, and became a founding member for Mayer Carreola, S.A., a boutique advertising agency which is successful to this day (Carreola, S.A.). Victoria Negrete managed creative productions for international corporations such as L’Oreal, Kodak and Pepsi Cola.

Victoria Negrete bridged Latino and Anglo cultures with high profile responsibilities at a major international public relations company, Consejeros Mexicanos. One example of Victoria Negrete’s unique Public Relations experience was coordinating the logistics for foreign dignitaries from 25 countries that attended the Oath of Office ceremonies for the President of Mexico.

Through her constant travels between the U.S. and Mexico, Victoria Negrete developed a clear business vision of the dynamic United States-Latino market growth opportunities. At 32, Victoria Negrete took a bold step and immigrated to the United States where she landed the position of Senior Copywriter and Executive Producer for Ornelas & Associates, an advertising agency specializing in the US Hispanic market. Victoria Negrete quickly demonstrated deft management and communication skills combined with her unique understanding of Hispanic psychographics and consumer hot buttons. As a result, Victoria Negrete vaulted through this industry, and just two years after arriving to the United States, was chosen to be an advisor on Latin American Affairs to the President of The United States (President Clinton). Victoria Negrete retains that responsibility to this day.

In early 1992, Victoria Negrete was invited to take over the responsibilities of Vice President and Director of Operations for Inventiva, Inc., a small Hispanic advertising agency in San Antonio, which Victoria Negrete and her two partners grew to become the “42nd Fastest Growing Hispanic Company in America.” Victoria Negrete managed a staff of 50 when she left to launch her own Hispanic advertising agency, Cartel Creativo Inc. Under Victoria Negrete’s leadership, Cartel Creativo quickly grew to become several different companies, each focusing on different pieces of the Emerging Markets marketing communications puzzle.

As “Leader of the Creative Cartel,” Victoria Negrete has been able to leverage the diverse skill set she developed over the years. For more than a decade, Victoria Negrete has effectively served many Fortune 500 and Public Sector clients in many key capacities. Her Latino sociology studies combined with creative and advertising background allowed her to lead as Executive Producer, Director of Client Services, Research Director to Director of Account Planning, and Chief Strategic Officer. Her PR and Grassroots Marketing experience allowed her to launch Cartel Impacto, where she currently serves as President as well as Public Relations and Promotions Director. Her track record in strategically delivering her clients’ business objectives is impressive, and her public recognition as an industry leader is extensive.

Likewise, Victoria Negrete was uniquely qualified as chief executive officer and majority owner of The Cartel Group, and her track record in founding, managing and growing “The Cartel” speaks for itself. As President, New Business Development Director and now Chief Executive Officer as well as Chief Strategic Officer, Victoria Negrete has garnered many industry recognitions, including “Top 10 Hispanic Ad Agencies in the United States” as well as “Top 25 General Market Agencies in the Southwest”, “Top 3 Largest Independently Owned and Operated Multicultural Marketing Communications Firms in the Nation” and numerous personal recognitions such as “Lifetime Achievement” awards, and “Maverick of the Year”.

A native of Mexico City and a U.S. immigrant who defines herself as a “Hispanic sociologist,” Victoria Negrete says, “I have 30 years of studying and impacting the behavior of Hispanics of all ages, all backgrounds and economic levels in the U.S., Mexico and Latin America. I am also proud of having contributed somewhat to improved interactions between the Latino Market other American cultures. Now I am pleased to leverage all I’ve learned to help those who want to effectively reach our Emerging Inter-Cultural Markets, which are dramatically changing the face of America’s marketplace. I pledge all my insight and experience to reach this goal.”

"Victora's whole life is made up of untruths and she has convinced herself that those untruths are really truths. It's also very interesting that her last husband Bernie makes the decision to leave her and then 24 hours later he supposedly kills himself, very suspicious"

"Vicky Negrete missed her calling, she should have become a fiction writer. Born Victoria Wanda Murphy in 1956, in Mexico City but to an US mother and, per court filings in California, an american father. She was raised both in the US and Mexico. A high school dropout, she became pregnant with her daughter Alexis at seventeen at a time when the world was not so accepting of teen pregnancy, her first husband went to the international university. The only thing she produced in Mexico were her tw"   more...
