Herman R. Frazier is the Associate Director for Sports Administration at Temple University, where he is responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of Temple University’s athletic teams. Herman Frazier oversees the creation and coordination of team schedules, communicates directly with coaches and student athletes, arranges all travel matters for teams when playing away games and participates in the recruitment and hiring process of coaching staff.
Herman Frazier is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency regarding Temple University’s athletics program. Herman Frazier has served in leadership positions at many athletic organizations; he is a former Vice President of USA Track and Field and a former Director of the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama.
Herman Frazier’s athletic experience is by no means limited to the administrative sector. He is a former Olympic and NCAA Champion Track and Field athlete. During his undergraduate career at Arizona State University, he was the 1977 NCAA Champion in the 400 meters, and from 1975 to 1977, he was the Western Athletic Conference champion in the same event.
Herman Frazier’s athletic prowess also earned him an Olympic gold medal in 1976 in the men’s 4x400 meters relay and a bronze medal in the men’s 400 meters race. Later in his career, Herman Frazier continued to support the U.S. Olympic team by being an Assistant Chef de Mission for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the Chef de Mission for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In 2002, Mr. Frazier was awarded the prestigious NCAA Silver Anniversary Award in recognition of the achievements he made in the 25 years since he graduated from college.
Herman Frazier studied undergraduate Political Science and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in 1977. In honor of his many achievements, Mr. Frazier’s friends and colleagues established the Herman R. Frazier Political Science Scholarship in 2002, which helps fund the education of deserving political science students at Arizona State University.
In his free time, Mr. Herman Frazier enjoys watching both professional and collegiate sports, jogging, and reading crime and mystery novels. He also donates annually to nonprofit organizations like the Special Olympics and United Way. Herman Frazier lives in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
