Creative Environments prides itself on offering unparalleled customer service, as well as award-winning design, construction and maintenance of residential and commercial landscapes.
Our mission statement at Creative Environments is to provide outstanding design, to build quality outdoor living environments and to ensure on-time production, while remaining committed to customer service and delivering 100% customer satisfaction.
Creative Environments, once Hammond Landscaping, originated in 1950 with only Chuck Hammond, Sr. and his wife Shirley. Chuck Hammond, Sr. went door to door selling the outdoor dream and then designing the landscapes he sold out of the back of his pickup truck. In the 1960’s, Mr. Del Webb was so very impressed by Hammond’s drive, ambition, and the company's quality landscapes, Hammond’s team began working directly under Del Webb.
It was during the 1970's that Hammond Landscaping decided to expand into flagstone operations by purchasing the lease rights to the mines from the government.
Chuck Hammond, Jr. and Dan Waters, two long time employees, purchased the company from Chuck Hammond, Sr. in 1993 and changed its name to Creative Environments, now the #1 Phoenix Landscaping & Build Company.
Today, over 50 years later, the company employs over 350 people, including over 40 landscape designers and 60 specialized crews that are professionally trained and ready to design your customized outdoor living environment.
John Waters has over 20 years of experience in strategic business development. He sets standards for growth and measured performance, productivity and profitability to ensure long term success and stability for employees and clients. Prior to joining Creative Environments, Mr. Waters helped market and develop investment groups, and also partnered and successfully built an asset recovery firm from local to national accounts with GECAP, Ford, Toyota Motor, Nissan, Yamaha, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and many others. After starting in 1991, his real estate business achieved recognition for the 16th largest (in size and revenue) out of more than 6,000 Century 21 Offices in the country, and was #1 in Arizona. It was sold in 1996. Mr. Waters built a successful Technology Training division for CBSI as a VP and Partner, and later sold interest to Sentinel Technologies who purchased the company in 1998. Mr. Waters holds business degree from ASU.
