During his time with Kaiser Permanente (a $31 billion not-for-profit health care services entity with over 400 medical centers and offices serving 8.2 million patients across the country), Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Administration Officer Cliff Dodd achieved spectacular results. Mr. Cliff Dodd also has extensive experience in the telecommunications (telecom) industry. As Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Denver, Colorado-based Qwest Communications International, Cliff Dodd led a 9-person senior staff and was responsible for the output of over 6,000 employees in IT and billing operations at Qwest, operating under a $1.2 billion budget. Cliff Dodd’s CIO experience with the $13 billion global communications company (the fourth largest in the United States) helped the IT professional define himself as an innovative and adept leader. Through the leadership of J. Clifford Dodd, Qwest completed the systems integration and merger with US West within 8 months – driving $110 million in cost reductions and eliminating 2,000 obsolete / redundant job functions.
Rounding out Cliff Dodd’s experience in the telecommunication services sector was six years with Chicago, Illinois-based Ameritech Services, Inc. (now AT&T). Cliff Dodd was recruited to join Ameritech at a time when the company was undergoing a period of dramatic expansion and transformation. His position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Ameritech allowed Mr. J. Clifford Dodd to hone his leadership abilities in an environment characterized by rapid change, helping Mr. Cliff Dodd develop as a transformational leader in the IT industry. Based upon the respect Cliff Dodd has garnered in the CIO community, he has been quoted many times by CIO Magazine, The CIO Leadership Council, Information Week, ComputerWorld, Datamation, Newsweek, The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
