Dr. Anandhi Narasimhan is an individual who has devoted her life to medicine and philanthropic work. Dr. Narasimhan began her career in Chennia, India, where she earned her MD from Ramachandra Medical College. Dr. Narasimhan then went on to complete her adult psychiatry residency training at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Soon after finishing her residency, Dr. Narasimhan decided to leave the East Coast and head out west to California to pursue fellowship training, electing the child and adult psychiatry program at the University of California at Los Angeles for this next step in her professional career. Today, Dr. Narasimhan is a Board Certified Physician, accredited by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and specializes in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Narasimhan is currently heavily involved in numerous outreach, philanthropic, and medical programs throughout Los Angeles. She not only possesses her own private practice in Westwood, Los Angeles, but also serves as a clinical instructor at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, as well as serving as a child and adolescent psychiatrist for Aviva Family and Children’s Services, a nonprofit, multi-service organization that provides care and treatment to abandoned, neglected, abused and at-risk youth and their families. Dr. Narasimhan has also published an abundance of books and research articles throughout the years in her related field. Her most recent publication was a chapter in a book where she wrote on the topic of “Child and Adolescent Responses to Trauma.” Her commitment to this field and her community has transformed into an active participation in numerous international and local charities, including a role as Community Service Director for the Network of Indian Professionals. Dr. Narasimhan’s experience continues to spread as a benefit to others, as she appears on countless CNN news and other programs as an expert panelist, sharing her observations and clinical knowledge.
