Profile
Linden Kemkaran is a product of academic institutions Hextable School of Kent and London's University of Surrey. Armed with an Honours BA degree in English, Drama, and Theatre from the University of Surrey, Linden Kemkaran has held various positions within the BBC News professional infrastructure. Kemkaran has worked as a Reporter, a News Planner and Organiser, and a Defence and Security producer at BBC News. Linden also has experience as a private secretary within London's Ministry of Defence.
Linden Kemkaran is dedicated to exercising her mind and body, all the while maintaining a philanthropic and charitable attitude. One of Linden Kemkaran's most treasured pastimes is running, and she is currently training in preparation for a 10K run in aid of Cancer Research UK.
In addition to refurbishing and renovating properties (her most recent project being a run-down flat in an Edwardian building), Linden Kemkaran enjoys reading; Steinbeck, Howard Brenton, Melvyn Burgess and Paul Auster top Kemkaran's list of favorite authors. Linden's literary experience extends to include playwriting; at Hextable School and at the University of Surrey, Kemkaran wrote, produced and directed several plays. A keen actress and singer, Linden belonged to the Old Admiralty Dramatic Society, appearing in several amateur productions in the west end of London.
Currently, Linden Kemkaran is a Reporter/Producer at BBC News. As part of this position, Kemkaran plans and prepares next-day news diaries, covering all aspects of UK news. Linden reports for the BBC News Channel and BBC Radio 4 and 5Live. On weekends and days off, Linden Kemkaran covers sometime reporting shifts on BBC World TV. Kemkaran shuffles her time between her professional pursuits and leisure activities, all the while making sure to make time to relax with her husband Peter and two young children, Sol and Fleur.
