One of the major principles of osteopathy is that the body is a unit, and that one’s structure and function are reciprocally interrelated. Jeff L. Summe is one of Edmonds’ finest board certified osteopathic doctors, caring for patients in his family practice at the Summe Medical Clinic since 1990. Dr. Jeff Summe is very involved in his work, and remains highly active in medicine even outside of his practice. Summe is a part of the Washington Osteopathic Medicine Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, and the Associated Physicians of Snohomish County. His accomplishments range farther and wider, as he is also the president of the Alumni Board for Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Jeff Summe also spent the last four years on the board of directors for the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.
In 1991, Dr. Jeff L. Summe was granted a Certificate of Competency in Sports Medicine by the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine. In May of 1996, Summe was awarded Distinction of Fellow American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine in not just his home state of Washington, but in California, Missouri, and Hawaii as well.
Together with his career accomplishments, Dr. Summe is also an Aviation Medical Examiner for 2nd and 3rd class pilots. Jeff is also a private pilot with instrument rating.
Dr. Jeff Summe attended Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his D.O. in medicine in 1987.
