As owner and operator of Global Empire Graphics, Norvin Landrum has to balance both the business duties needed to run a company and the creative strains involved when creating unique pieces of graphic art for clients.
Landrum’s company provides branding, web design, illustration, advertising, publication layout, and creative concept services for clients, and Landrum maintains a high standard of quality in company work. Since its opening in January 2008, the firm has achieved success, even going so far as helping out nonprofit organizations and offering them huge discounts that are usually reserved for major companies to doll out.
One of the keys to Global Empire Graphics success is Norvin Landrum’s own personal attention to detail. Landrum not only manages and promotes his company as a normal owner would do; he also takes part in the gritty design work and copywriting needed for client projects.
Landrum received his degree from Western Washington University, earning a Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Design in 2003. While studying at Western Washington, Landrum earned a variety of honors, including his inclusion into the Gold Key Honor Society and a feature role for his paintings in Scholar’s Week.
In addition to his achievements, Landrum was a member of the Student Gallery club and worked as an Exhibit Technician at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art. As a technician Landrum was tasked with installation assistance for various art exhibits, and was utilized on complex exhibition pieces after becoming well known for his patience and impressive eye for detail.
Landrum’s skill was quickly noticed, and he worked on several exhibits that won national museum awards, as well as contributing to Pacific Northwest Photographers NOW exhibit by creating promotional graphic design pieces.
After graduating, Norvin left the museum to teach others his craft. As Assistant Instructor at Edmonds Community College, Landrum taught Multimedia Vocational Education, assisting students with important digital imaging and graphic design skills.
