Profile
One of New Zealand’s leading investors and land developers, Evan C. Williams has worked for numerous companies during his career. Presently, Evan C. Williams serves as the founder, CEO and Chairman for his land development firm, Williams Land Limited. Mr. Williams also works as Director and Advisor for several other enterprises, among them: Parents, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to making life better for parents and children and The Waterfront Fund, a New Zealand partnership formed to hold and preserve coastal property in New Zealand and Fiji. Evan C. Williams has also served as director for AerCo, Ltd.
Evan Williams began his career in the legal and educational sectors. Graduating with honors in law from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, Mr. Williams remained at the institution where had earned both his Bachelor and Masters level degrees. He became a member of the Law Faculty there and taught for the next three years.
Following his career as a professor, Mr. Evan C. Williams moved to the private sector and became a commercial lawyer for Chapman Tripp. For nearly two decades, Evan Williams specialized in comprehensive cross border mergers and acquisitions cases, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and transactions taking place in capital markets. Evan Williams served as a board member, managing partner and chairman for the law firm.
Evan Williams then transitioned to private equity investments and land development. Mr. Williams was a key part of the island resort project at Denarau Island. Denauru Island is the largest integrated resort in the South Pacific, and part of an ongoing development initiative in Fiji. Evan C. Williams has gone on to found and develop a number of waterfront developments in Northland and Auckland, and the Bay of Islands, New Zealand.
Mr. Williams enjoys reading and travel. His home and businesses are based in New Zealand.
