Profile
As a Director and Practice Leader at the prestigious Chicago real estate valuation firm Stout Risius Ross, Gordon K. Vella is charged with leading a global staff and must ensure that the business is represented properly in the international real estate investment market.
Vella is still relatively new to the company, entering the firm in 2007, but this Social Science major out of Nebraska has already made an undeniable contribution to the organization, including his appraisal of the Hancock Tower in Chicago, which is one of the largest real estate assets in country. Mr. Vella has worked on various valuation projects during his time with Stout Risius Ross, diversifying his experience over 20 states while helping the firm raise their already impressive property portfolio.
Prior to Stout Risius Ross, Gordon Vella served as Vice President of CB Richard Ellis, a giant in the global real estate valuation industry. Mr. Vella worked at CB Richard Ellis for five years, heading up numerous projects while managing a high-end valuation team and personally working on the appraisal of numerous major properties located throughout America. During this time, Gordon Vella completed the valuation of some the most important properties in Chicago, including the Prudential Towers, as well as the USG and ATT towers.
Gordon Vella earned his way into these prominent leadership positions by working as a Senior Appraiser for Joseph J. Blake & Associates for eight years. During his time at the respected appraisal and consulting firm, Vella traveled throughout the Midwest to complete valuation of numerous real estate properties.
Gordon K. Vella graduated from the University of Nebraska with degrees in Education and Social Science, and is currently a member of several important professional organizations, including the Appraisal Institute, The National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, and the Capitol Region Education Council. Outside of work, Gordon enjoys organic farming, cross country skiing, and horseback riding, but he also dedicates his time to charities like the Red Cross March of Dimes, and the Spina Bifida Association. Mr. Vella also conducts community service through volunteer efforts with adult reading education programs.
