Profile
Edwin Fragoso is an associate attorney at the prestigious New York law firm Arent Fox, but less than three years ago he was an assistant tile setter and bricklayer at a construction company. So how does someone like Edwin Fragoso make such a drastic life change? Fragoso began his rise up the law firm ranks by graduating summa cum laude from Florida University in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in history. During his time in school, Fragoso worked construction, specializing in marble and brick. After taking a year off to work and raise funds, Edwin Fragoso was accepted into Columbia Law School and received his law degree in 2007. Fragoso’s dedicated work ethic and academic consistency helped him graduate from Columbia Law, one of the top Law schools in the United States. Prior to his work at Arent Fox, Edwin Fragoso worked for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office, gaining valuable experience in the world of criminal law. At the State Attorney’s office, Fragoso helped with legal research and prepared felony cases. At his current position, Edwin Fragoso works on commercial and construction litigation, but he has not been admitted to the New York bar so firm principals supervise his work. The responsibility imparted upon Fragoso is impressive, especially for someone who has not been admitted to the bar, illustrating Fragoso’s prominent law abilities. Edwin Fragoso stays active outside of his hectic work schedule by maintaining a healthy collection of comic books and remaining involved with the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF), a non-profit organization that promotes democracy in Cuba. CANF has a large membership throughout the United States, and dedicates its efforts toward a non-violent Cuban move to market-based democracy. Edwin Fragoso is also an avid athlete, holding a brown belt in Judo and participating in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Boxing.
