Profile
| Andrew Taitz gained valuable experience in South Africa, where he worked in the frozen food industry until he decided to come to America in 1990 to find a manufacturing company that would offer stability, even when economic conditions were bleak. In 1993, Andrew Taitz bought the oldest truck body maker in the world, Union City Body Company. In a few short years, Andrew Taitz completely transformed the company and revolutionized the niche truck building industry by consolidating the manufacturing of the chassis and body on one premise. This helped to drop the time of manufacturing and gave clients a piece of mind since all warranty claims can be handled through one company. After reviving the company, Andrew Taitz acquired the P-Chassis division from GM in 1998, renaming it to Workhouse Custom Chassis. With this new chassis, Andrew Taitz was able to diversify his products, offerings, and sell the chassis to other body manufacturers as well. Workhouse Customs Chassis was also the first company that was under, Grand Vehicle Works Holdings, which Andrew Taitz is the founder and chairman of. After finding great success with RVs and other custom jobs, Andrew Taitz acquired Autocar Company in 2001, so that he can build trucks for the refuse service industry. Armed with engineering from Volvo trucks, Andrew Taitz was able to deliver great trucks that had modern ergonomics, designs, and hybrid power trains. In 2005, Andrew Taitz founded Aculocity, which analyzes and monitors warranty claims to ensure that any replacement parts are handled properly. Scaling in niche markets is a difficult task, but Aculocity helps to break down warranty claims using statistical data derived from their transactional and analytical applications. Aculocity also provides GVWH with an IT infrastructure that is vertically integrated with all aspects of the company. His success has led to the sale of Union City Body Company. Furthermore Andrew Taitz sold Workhouse Custom Chassis to Navistar International. GVWH is currently composed of Aculocity, Autocar, and Triz Engineering.
