| Jonathan Ostroff is an accomplished contributor in the world of tech-academia, and has penned more than 60 scientific papers that have been published in numerous journals, written a significant scholarly book, and participated in numerous technological conferences all over the world. Ostroff currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at York University, Canada’s third largest university. Jonathan Ostroff received a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in 1976, and three years later earned his M.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, which is widely regarded as the top college in Canada. After receiving his Masters, Ostroff worked for Imperial Oil, Canada’s largest petroleum company, from 1979 to 1981, but returned to academic world in 1986 as a lecturer at York University. Ostroff reignited his studies at the University of Toronto and received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the college in 1987. Shortly after achieving his PhD, Ostroff finished his informative book, Temporal Logic for Real Time Systems, which was published in 1989. Ostroff has remained dedicated to technological advancements and research since he finished his initial academic studies, becoming a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a global professional association that studies and improves technological growth. IEEE holds numerous conferences for technology professionals all over the world, several of which Ostroff has been an integral part of, including the fifth International Conference on Software Engineering and Formal Methods that was held in London, as well as the third and second installments of that same conference that were held in Germany and Beijing, respectively. Ostroff’s work in the fields of engineering and technology goes deeper than teaching and conference participation. Jonathan Ostroff has conducted extensive software engineering research that led to in-depth participation in projects that covered real-time safety critical software, sequential and concurrent software verification, and model driven development.
