Charlie is currently an analyst for Union Square Ventures, a New York City based venture capital firm focusing on early stage investments in technology enabled service businesses. Prior to joining Union Square Ventures, he spent four years at the General Motors pension fund’s $6 billion private markets group, working on partnership and direct investments in venture capital, leveraged buyout and private debt. At GM, he worked extensively on venture capital partnerships focusing on emerging technology as well as private equity investments in the consumer sector.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Charlie has been extensively involved in developing innovative new approaches to career education and development. He is the Chair of NYSSA’s SEMI program, a unique educational opportunity given to local college students interested in finance. He also helped develop Fordham’s first Young Alumni Mentoring Program and recruited most of the 52 recently graduated alumni that took part in the program. In addition, Charlie is an adjunct professor at Fordham's Graduate School of Business, teaching a course entitled Introduction to Business Blogging.
A Brooklyn native, Charlie received a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University summa cum laude. He is an active volunteer at the Downtown Boathouse and the co-Chair of the Fordham Young Alumni Committee. He can also be found blogging at www.thisisgoingtobebig.com.
