Profile
| If one were to ask me what I did for a living, I would tell them the truth. I am an interior designer and a faux finisher. If someone asked me what are you passionate about, I would tell them about my company, Four Winds Healthy Home. After seven years of having Four Winds as a niche, part time business, I am pleased to bring it into the forefront. It was also rewarding that in the November 2007, Green Issue of Phoenix Magazine, we were the #6 listing in the article "31 of the Valley's Greenest Companies." For decades, we have been cleaning our most intimate spaces, our homes, with chemicals. It is quite an oxymoron. "Cleaning" while depositing toxic chemicals into the air we breath, the clothes we wear and the furniture we relax on. Later, these same chemicals pollute our land and finally can get into water we rely on. In reality, most, if not all, household stains that are in our carpets, furniture and clothes are better served with plant based solutions than their chemical counterparts. Plant based cleaning products combine with and dissolve the stains in a carpet. Chemical solutions flash the stain down into the padding, giving it a chance to resurface later, frequently leaving residue behind. Furthermore, plant based formulas condition fibers rather than strip them like many chemical compounds do. I will tell you what made me start this company in this manner and slowly nurture it. It was, and is, an unwavering belief that the green, plant based way of cleaning is the way of the future. Presently, there is a wave of green washing. It is true. There are shades of greeness and the products we use are the greenest; created by companies that were doing this long before it was fashionable. As a business owner and a consumer, I also know that it is just not enough to be green, or eco-responsible. The bottom line is still the same. Proven results, meaningful customer service, and far reaching ethics. This is what we bring to the table.
