Having received her formal training in residence at a Hindu ashram, Melinda is Yoga Alliance certified, and co-certified in working with acute and chronic health conditions. Although she lives and teaches year-round in the Long Beach Island area, she teaches students in Manhattan as well. Yoga helps to de-stress while building strength and stamina. It promotes body awareness and is beneficial for weight loss. The Institute of Medicine at the National academy of Sciences considers yoga to be one of the complementary and alternative therapies used in integrative medical centers and clinics, and it is currently being used to help patients with cancer, HIV, heart disease and more.
