The purpose of this biography is to give each of us a practical reason for the beginnings of a new relationship and hopefully continue it into the future. You may ask, who is this person and why should I care? Good question! Actually, there just might be reciprocal benefits for each of us that could be rewarding and perhaps even profitable.
.
As Charles Dickens once said somewhere, “I was born.” Isn’t it terrific to share something with great men?

The world first said “hello” to me in the great NW of Spokane, WA. But after a few short and untested years the land voyage began. With my dad in the lead, the trek went form north → south, south → northeast → Midwest → southwest → northeast → south east → north east, and lots of places in between. This was owing to my dad’s job.

At various times, this young traveler could be located in eight different grammar schools, four high schools, two colleges and eventually graduate school where a Masters in Education with a track in Counseling Psychology was awarded. As an adult, moving around the country was further dictated by graduate school and job, career considerations.

So, there were no roots. However, the lesson was and still is that each place has its own people and beauty not found elsewhere. Now and forever (I hope) is Lowell, MA, just about 10 miles below Nashua, NH. Lowell is a revitalized old mill city that abounds in the excitement and beauty of a National Park, artists, and every imaginable art and culture. Is there family? Oh, yes. But, no marriage or little Hurleys in the picture.

Oh, happy bachelorhood is mine sings the bard. At the same time, my brother, sisters, and I have always enjoyed close and most supportive relationships. We survive together, in many ways.

A strong work ethic developed as two parallel careers were simultaneously perused. First, the love of selling began at about age five when I swiped a case of combs from my dad’s basement cache and sold them for a nickel apiece around the neighborhood. That beginning career move took me to National Sales Director for a small publishing company in New York state. The second career was as a counselor and psychotherapist working with individuals and groups, both adolescents and adults.

In the process there has been a lot of writing and facilitating of a great many interactive workshops in the areas of education, sales process and dynamics, and self-help. Is there room for anything else? Sure there is. There is an endearment to classical music, reading, movies, Boston Red Sox and the NE Patriots.

A primary interest for the past ten years or so has been Internet Marketing. Frankly, there were a lot of questions and reservations about it. Up to about six months ago activity in this arena has been mainly explorative research with some dabbling in making money. Life’s circumstances had dictated that posture. However, while learning during this period, many mistakes were made which in turn made experience possible. During these past ten years, with the help of some great mentors like Jim Gras and Val Smyth, and a team of professional like-minded entrepreneurs, Internet Marketing has become my passion.

Here are just a few of the things I’ve learned. This industry is chock full of traps, false promises of grandeur, false starts and dashed hopes. As a result, it is also populated by 95% to 98% of those involved pouring out more to operate their businesses than income generated by those endeavors. Can you indentify with that? If you’ve been anywhere around this industry, sure you can.

Now, here is the positive reality. I’m convinced that good Internet Marketing is based on establishing and building relationships with people. It’s not about shoving someone else’s product down somebody’s throat, or even about downlines or mailing lists. Rather, it’s about promoting myself and how to honestly benefit others. That means being with them, genuinely helping and mentoring them towards success. It means commitment, discipline, and work. Sure, the tools of the trade and the electronic systems are there and are essential. They are exciting and save us tons of time, making us more successful and prosperous. But relationship driven marketing is the basis of success here.

Mentoring has taught me that Internet Marketing is an art and a science, a craft to be learned and internalized. Personally, I believe that. And this craft has some definite underpinnings. What do I mean by that? Very definite underlying, philosophical and psychological keys govern the mastery of the art and it’s execution.

Here are only few of the most important I simply assume to share with you now: Seek out and associate with ethical, honest people who are successes in the industry. They do welcome us with enthusiasm. Learn from the genuine masters, not the gurus. They don’t want to be “duplicated”; they will work with you and help you to activate your own potential, be your own personality and successful person.

Only become associated with companies that have proven longevity and track records of success. Build numerous streams of income. Learn what to watch out for so you don’t become a victim of scams. Avoid all hype, balloons, canned clip art marketing, and promises of lightning fast riches while you sit on the beach as the program does the work for you 24/7. That posture really only makes others rich while you and I struggle from week to week.

A professional Internet marketer needs to be aligned with a proven comprehensive system of marketing containing all the tools required to attract entrepreneurial people who are seriously dedicated to their own success, and who are exclusively yours to encourage, mentor, and grow with you.

I’ve had to practice patience and courage in face of disappointments. Frankly, I look forward to making more mistakes. Why? Because if I were perfect (impossible), there would be nothing left for me to learn and stagnation would be inevitable. Stagnation is a pool of water only good for breeding mosquitoes. The day I stop learning is the day I stop growing.

Well, there is much more to talk about. However, I would much prefer to meet you, talk and find out what you do, your passions in life, hopes and dreams, intentions. That’s it for now as far as a biography goes. Hope to see ya.
