Lisa Cornelius has a background in Pilates through her career as a Professional Figure Skater. While on tour with 'Disney On Ice' she went through intense Classical Pilates training through Core Dynamics Pilates out of Santa Fe, NM and became the official tour Pilates Instructor in 2000. Upon retirement from the ice shows in 2005 she began building her business in Jupiter, Florida and has since moved to Denver, CO where she is currently doing business at The Pilates Movement at Larimer and 21st St near Coors Field. "Lisa Cornelius has been my pilates instructor for 1 1/2 years. I took private lessons from Lisa 2-3 x per week for a year. Now I attend 3-4 group lessons a week with an occassional private. Lisa really understands all of her clients physical abilities and limitations and is very aware of them even in a group setting. "Lisa Cornelius is an excellent Pilates instructor! I started working with her at Core Concepts and followed her to True Pilates rather than switch to another instructor for convenience. As much as I try to stay committed to a fitness program, being a busy single mom convenience is a must for me. "Lisa has been my instructor for some time (2 years) and when she tells you how to do something or how not to do something she is focused on perfection. My take on this is that as a former successful professional skater she excels at execution and without perfect form pilates does not achieve the fitness goals. Because she imparts on her clients the perfect execution she gets the most out of them. "Lisa is a very devoted and a very artistic teacher of Pilates. I am 49 yrs old and have enjoyed all forms of sports. I have become so fond of pilates for it has touched muscles I didn't know I had. Lisa help find them with a lot of patience and perfection. She is very professional and shows tremendous knowledge in this form of exercise as weil as breathing. "Under Lisa's watchful eye and instruction in pilates for the last 18 months I have gained flexibilty and strength. I have always enjoyed walking, biking, outdoor activity and resented any time spent in a gym.
