Roberto has been in the multimedia and communications business since 1996 when he began work at a broadband media start-up, The Fantastic Corporation. Taking the original vision of broadband channels from their business plan Roberto built interactive media applications for premium European content providers such as MTV Europe, Eurosport and Reuters. Following a successful IPO, he managed the Research and Prototyping Competence Centre within Fantastic to explore future media experiences and their enabling technologies. Many of the prototypes developed by this group are reaching the market today (i.e. real-time integration of live sport events with broadband-enabled gaming consoles).
In 2002 Roberto created Wheii.com, a knowledge portal dedicated to monitoring and understanding global trends, the market and emerging technologies. He offered lectures at Universities on the future of media, technology and the impact on our lives.
In 2004 he had the urge to address real questions and he started dealing with inner energies, different territories of intelligence. He travelled widely in Asia and then he founded BASHIBA to envision products and services that transcend current opportunities. His focus is non-intrusive, always-on, ambient intelligence layers created to improve the way people perceive complex data changes. Roberto authored the patent "In Echtzeit teilnehmende oder re-agierende Instinkt-Kommunikations-Kanal-Hyperoberfläche, insbesondere zum Verstärken eines Informations-bewusstseins" (patent pending).
He holds an executive MBA in Media and Communication from the University of St.Gallen and a BA from Franklin College.
