Profile
Born in Warren, Michigan many years ago, I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. After living in Troy, MI from age 11 through 20, I played a lot of baseball. I had aspirations for playing professional baseball. I was scouted by the St. Louis Cardinals my senior year in highschool, and I tried out for the Detroit Tigers during that same summer.
Not ready for primetime, I played a year of college baseball at Oakland Community College, and then tried out for Macomb Community College's team where I torn my rotator cuff. This is very bad for a pitcher, which is what I played. That injury ended my dream of the major leagues.
After that I started playing a lot of softball and tried to complete an engineering degree. It didn't work out (calculus and I did not get along). So, I started my career as a mechanical designer which led me to become a CAD designer, and later a UNIX system administrator.
While I was a UNIX admin, it dawned on me that I could start my own business. So, after a few years doing the UNIX thing, and a few more working as an SAP Basis administrator, I started Acme Data, LLC.
I have a passion for my business because I know that my clients are protecting their livelihood and business by backing up their precious business information to my server. This gives them peace of mind and it gives me pride in knowing that I can help by doing something I love.
Cheers,
Scott Watson
