Since 1994, Edward E. O’Sullivan of Boston, Massachusetts, has acted as President of the government relations and business development firm Capital Associates, Inc. Here, he develops the overall strategy and vision for the company and aids clients in acquiring business from federal, state, and city governments. In this role, O’Sullivan represents clients, appearing before federal elected officials, governors, and state legislators on their behalf. He built the company from $500,000 in debt into a multi-million-dollar corporation. Recently, Edward E. O’Sullivan was named Managing Director of Straight Cents LLC, in charge of growing the network in both Internet and cable outlets. In 1978, Edward E. O’Sullivan graduated cum laude from Boston College with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Next, he attended New England Law | Boston, earning his Juris Doctor, and represented the school at a National Honors Moot Court Competition. O’Sullivan put his education to good use when he joined the Commonwealth of Massachusetts House Minority Leadership Office as Legal Counsel and Chief of Staff. There, he supervised legislative and legal work and served as a strategist for many Republican campaigns. When Edward E. O’Sullivan left his post in 1986, he was publicly commended by Democratic and Republican leaders at the House of Representatives. Next, Edward E. O’Sullivan took the position of Associate Counsel and Director of Public Affairs at the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, a state trade association. There, he educated the workforce on issues such as environmental regulations and tax increase proposals. Edward E. O’Sullivan also authored newsletters and bulletins and met with legislators, government officials, and opponents to discuss the company’s interests in the manufacturing industry. In addition, he implemented state-of-the-art telemarketing and electronic communications programs that enabled the staff to communicate with the State Capitol quickly and efficiently.
